Wu Zun who rose to fame in Taiwan and Hong Kong because of Taiwanese idol dramas has become a hot catch in the movie scene, but his work has met many obstacles recently. First it was the changing of female leads in Butterfly Lovers which didn't receive positive reviews in China, then recently his leading role in A Bi Jian couldn't commence filming as scheduled, the lead cast could be changed anytime, causing great confusion and uncertainty!
In the recent years the Taiwanese wave has descended on both China and Hong Kong, a crowd of Taiwanese stars have made use of the opportunity to venture overseas, and have become highly demanded in the movie scene. Fahrenheit member Wu Zun who rose to fame because of Taiwanese dramas such as HYSNSN and RP, secured spots in both Jingle Ma and Andrew Lau's Butterfly Lovers and A Bi Jian, becoming the leading hotshot to burst out of Taiwan. However both flicks have now been delayed concurrently, causing Wu Zun who had intended to immerse himself fully in filming to be hindered.
Painfully training until shedding tears.
In December last year, Wu Zun started intensive martial arts training for the duelling scenes in Andrew Lau's A Bi Jian, besides having to do stretches and horse stance etc type of basic movements everyday, he also had to train in fist fighting and swordplay, the harsh training caused him to hurt so much that he shed manly tears, was even photographed with his left eye bloodshot because of injury. Although this TV serial was due to have commenced filming last month, because of script problems has been delayed until February next year, causing Wu Zun's plans to be messed up. Director Andrew Lau has already confirmed the delay in plans, saying "Because the current script is completely not what I had in mind, so massive changes are required, Wu Zun will continue to train in martial arts to keep in form." However, as to whether Wu Zun will still keep his leading actor role when filming commences next year, Andrew Lau only said, "90% it'll be him!"
The other film that Wu Zun will be helming, Butterfly Lovers, has seen changes after changes to the female lead, in the end the original Ah Jiao Gillian Chung was replaced by Ah Sa Charlene Choi, then came rumours that the film was not well received in China, the filming would be delayed, that the movie title would be changed to Sword.Butterfly, it's really wave after wave of obstacles.
Both of Wu Zun's cinematic forays have met many obstacles, causing his plan to venture out of Taiwan to be hindered repeatedly, now he has to re-block his schedule for filming, creating much confusion.
