MUSICAL CAREER
Yan was the second and youngest member to join Fahrenheit. He is the tenor vocalist of the group. He has been acknowledged as the member with the most impressive vocal ability. His publicized temperature is that of cold Winter, at 41 F degrees. He also represents "Charming" (traditional Chinese: 迷; pinyin: mí). Yan also has his own solo which is in The X-Family Soundtrack; Yuan Yi Bu Ai Ni (Willing Not To Love You). He has also done a duet called Ti Amo with his junior, Liu Li Yang, which is featured on the Two-sided Fahrenheit album. Yan, together with the other three members of Fahrenheit, has released their self-titled first album in September 15, 2006 and their much anticipated second album, 2Face Fahrenheit, released on January 4, 2008. They have also contributed in many television soundtracks such as KO One, Tokyo Juliet, Hanazakarino Kimitachihe, The X-Family, and Romantic Princess.
INJURY
Yan underwent knee surgery in 2006 due to an injury and was not able to attend a lot of the promotions for Fahrenheit's first album both in Taiwan and abroad. In 2007, he underwent another surgery when the old injury was acting up again. When the doctors discovered his ligament was torn again, he rapidly underwent a surgery. However, an anesthetic malfunction caused him to regain pain sensitivity during the surgery, thus made him suffer greatly during the operation.
As of end 2007, he has made a terrific recovery but is still refraining from performing intense leg movements till the recovery is complete.
CONTROVERSIES
Because of his absence in many of Fahrenheit's promotions during the later half of 2006 for their first album, news about Fahrenheit leaving him behind thus continuing to be three member boyband and other disbandment news were the center of attention of the media and the concern of most fans. Nonetheless, it is confirmed that Yan will not be leaving Fahrenheit and the band has since expressed great unity and have built strong relationships with one another.
